"Chante' " (Chan-TAY) has probably the most depth of body and the classiest head in my entire herd. Her topline is slowly straightening out, especially her rump. After 11 years with Kalakala of the near-perfect rump angle, it is hard to put up with the more typical Nubian rump. Her front legs need to be straighter, her rear legs with a bit more angulation, and I would like to see her wider in the thurls. She is improved over her dam in length of bone, length of ear, and snugness/smoothness of the foreudder. She is also maintaining production better than her dam, albeit we are puttering along at a bit less than a quart a day right now (Sept '15)...but I'm not going to get too upset or excited about this year. She started off with a single kid, as a FF, and now producing the same as her dam that kidded with triplets and started out with higher production. She was also the highest producing Nubian FF this year, and since she had a single, and the other two had twins...I think that is good enough evaluation for this year.
Keep your eyes peeled for an udder picture...this udder is gorgeous! Can't wait to see it with more milk in it next year!
